Attorney Brady has had an independent law practice since 1996, specializing in employment law and civil rights, and domestic relations litigation representing individuals, especially professionals in the Boston area. In addition, Brady has drawn from his previous employment as a university professor of criminology in his service as a consultant and expert witness in local and national class action litigation involving issues of urban divestment, mortgage lending, insurance underwriting, and arson.
Legal Expertise
Attorney Brady earned an L.L.M from Harvard Law School in 1995 after completing his J.D. at Northeastern University in Boston. Prior to Brady's entrance to law school, he was a university professor in criminology; he had received his MA and PhD in criminology from University of California at Berkeley after completing his BA at Dartmouth College.
Brady is a member of both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Bar Associations, and has taken cases pro hoc vice in other states across the country. Prior to opening his own practice, Brady worked as a Judicial Law Clerk in the US District Court of Masschusetts under Judge Young, later moving on to associate positions at several Boston law firms, including Cuddy Bixby and Perkins, Smith, and Cohen.

As a professor, Brady taught subjects ranging from criminal justice in the US and comparative law in China and Cuba, as well as the war in Viet Nam and the socio-psychological effects of combat, at Boston University, Colorado State University, University of Massachusetts at Boston, and John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. Brady also co-founded and served as the Director of the Joiner Center for the Study of War and Social Consequences at University of Massachusetts at Boston.
In addition to his teaching appointments, Brady was also a De Wolfe Howe Fellow at Harvard University researching prison litigation, a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Applied Social Research in Boston, a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School's East Asian Legal Studies Center, the recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to study the 'Social Legacy of the Viet Nam War', and a Leverholme Fellow in the Center for Criminological and Legal Studies at Sheffield University in England.
Brady also served as the Director of Research in the Arson Strike Force of the Boston Police Department Detective Bureau
in 1983-1984.

Attorney Brady has written three books: The Criminalization of Bank Regulation (1995), Justice and Politics in People's China: Legal Order or Continuing Revolution? (Academic Press) and Popular Justice: Contrasting Experiences of China and the United States (Dissertation Abstracts).

Personal Background
Brady was born in Oklahoma, though he has lived in New England with his Italian wife and two daughters for thirty years. When Attorney Brady is not preparing for depositions and trials, he enjoys drinking tea, completing crosswords, reading history books, and gardening.
